Description

λ An 18th century ivory snuff box, with gilt brass mounts, with a repousse decorated hinge, the interior stained red, the base inscribed 'IOOLOUIS', a carved ivory and brass mounted part box, decorated with a standard bearer, with an angel, soldiers and a tomb with initials 'H G M' possibly 17th century, an oval ivory plaque inlaid with tortoiseshell, the verso with the remains of a painted scene with two children, a carved bone fragment and an unusual carved ivory object with a pole with recumbent lion and leaf terminals with two iron spikes, 18.3cm long (max).
