Description
An early 19th century mahogany and brass bound apothecary's box, the hinged lid with a vacant plaque, the interior with an applied brass plaque inscribed 'From Apothecaries Hall, London', the interior fitted with sixteen glass bottles and stoppers, the majority with paper labels for 'Henry Sykes & Son, Chemist, Huddersfield', with a base drawer with a pair of lidded compartments revealing a pestle and mortar, a measure and glass tumblers, with a lift-out tray fitted with a set of scales, flanked by a pair of metal canisters and with further glass bottles, with sunken brass handles, 25.7cm high, 31cm wide, 22.3cm deep.
