Description
A George III ebonised bracket clock, the eight day movement with an anchor escapement and striking the hours on a bell, the brass backplate engraved with a Harlequin figure, a pair of urns and scrolls and flowers, the silvered dial also engraved and with Roman and Arabic numerals and a Strike / Silent dial, inscribed 'Nichols & Son, Newport', the case with a later brass carrying handle, with brass urn finials and fishscale panelled sides, 50cm high, 28cm wide, 19.2cm deep.
