A Victorian presentation silver snuff box,
by Francis Clark, Birmingham 1839,
rectangular form, engraved tartan decoration, the hinged cover applied with an inscribed shield cartouche, inscribed 'Presented to Dr. John Gillow, by a party of visitors from Bishop Auckland to Ushaw College, as a small memento of his Urbanity and Kindness, Nov.1862', gilded interior, length 6.8cm, approx. weight 2.5oz.
