λA George II silver erotic snuff box,
unmarked, circa 1730,
oval form, the hinged cover with a relief depiction of Bacchus and Ariadne after Sebastian Conca, the inside of the cover set with a miniature on ivory of a gentleman and two ladies, one holding a hat over the reclining gentleman, with a side push/pull lever that moves the hat to reveal his enjoyment, gilded base, length 7.8cm.
