λA late-18th century French ballooning snuff box,
circa 1780's,
circular form, gold flecked red lacquer ground, guilt-metal banding, the pull-off cover with a scene showing the Versailles balloon under glass, and titled 'LE GRENIE ELEVE LA DOUCHEUR', diameter 6.7cm.
