A RARE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE OVOID VASE

KANGXI 1662-1722

Painted in bright underglaze cobalt blue with three lion dogs chasing brocade balls entangled in ribbons, the base of the neck with a border of ruyi-heads, 45cm.

Cf. Qing Shunzhi Kangxi Chao Qinghua Ci, p.399, no.256 for a related example but decorated with a dragon in the collection of the Palace Museum in Beijing.
