SIX CHINESE FANS

EARLY 19TH CENTURY

Comprising: two brisé fans with monograms, one ivory with birds and flowers painted on silk, one plain ivory with lace, one with mother of pearl and lace, one paper with stained bamboo sticks in a silk embroidered case, together with a pair of suede leather gloves embroidered with sprays of blue flowers in silk thread, 34cm max. (9)

Provenance: acquired by John Reeves after his arrival in Canton in 1812, and thence by descent.
