A CHINESE 'DOWAGER EMPRESS' PATTERN CONG-SHAPED VASE

SIX CHARACTER GUANGXU MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1875-1908

Painted en grisaille with the autumn pattern of hwamei birds, chrysanthemum and hibiscus blossoms against a turquoise ground, with two elephant handles and bands of key fret at the foot and flower sprays at the rim, 29.5cm.
