MEIJI 1868-1912

Carved in low and high relief with continuous scenes possibly taken from the story of the Shinto storm god Susanoo slaying the Yamata no Orochi, the figures standing in woods by crashing waves, a seal mark for Norizane / Hojitsu, together with two hexagonal wood stands, 34cm. (4)
