Description

A Deruta maiolica gold-lustre comport or footed bowl early 16th century, the bowl straight-sided and painted to the interior in blue and gold lustre with St Francis of Assisi receiving the stigmata, kneeling before a cross and flanked by conical trees, the walls with an ovolu band, some restoration, 26.5cm dia.
