An early Martin Brothers stoneware jug by Robert Wallace Martin, dated 1876, cylindrical form, incised with a band of flowering scrolling foliage, the handle with simple leaf repeat in blue on a pale blue ground, the neck in brown incised R W Martin Southall 9-1876, minor glaze frits to neck rim, 21cm. high
