A John Hardman & Co silver-gilt chalice the design attributed to John Hardman Powell, the hexafoil base cast with flowerhead panels set with central garnets, the cylindrical neck engraved with floral diaper work, the knop engraved with leaves and set with garnets and foil-backed quartz stones, the flaring bowl with grape vine border to the base, stamped marks, Birmingham 1866, 17cm. high
