Description

An early George III fruitwood bracket clock by Conyers Dunlop, the eight day twin fusee movement, with a verge escapement and four turned pillars, striking the hours on a bell and the quarters on the pull repeat, the backplate finely engraved with birds and Rococo scrolls and flowers, the silvered arch dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, with subsidiary 'Strike/Silent' and rise and fall dials, with date aperture and cast spandrels, signed 'Conys Dunlop London', in a pad top case, with a brass handle and glazed sides, 40.2cm high, 27.8cm wide.
