λ  An Inuit harpoon

Arctic, 19th century

Narwhal tusk, with the ridged spirals removed leaving a smooth surface, with attachment holes to the base and two faceted sides with raised sections, one side with three pierced with two holes in each, one hole with remains of hide strap, to a tapering point,

136cm long.
