Description

A Flemish ebony and kingwood cabinet, inlaid with ivory stringing, with geometric panelled decoration, the hinged top revealing a vacant compartment, above a pair of doors with a ripple moulding, enclosing an arrangement of nine drawers, three with veneered linings, all fitted with later brass ring handles, originally with side carrying handles, late 17th / early 18th century, on an associated and later ebonised stand with winged paw feet, 94.8cm high, 103cm wide, 47.7cm deep.

Provenance: The Old Rectory, Little Langford, Wiltshire. Sold by order of Trustees of the Estate of the late Miss S.F. Rooke. Sold in these rooms 8th July 2014, lot 11.
