Description
A Regency mahogany and brass inlaid bracket clock by Tupman, the eight day twin barrel movement striking the hours on a gong, the circular dial with Roman numerals and signed 'TUPMAN, Chars. Street, Grosvenor Sq', the arched case inlaid with scrolling leaves, husks and flowers, on ball feet, 42.5cm high, 28.5cm wide, together with a contemporary bracket. (2)
George Tupman & Co. (1790-1875) were active at 6 Charles Street, Grosvenor Square 1806-1830.
