A CHINESE CIZHOU BROWN-SPLASHED BLACK GLAZED JAR
SONG DYNASTY 960-1279
With an ovoid body with brown splashes against a lustrous black glaze stopping short of the foot revealing a biscuit body, with two ribbed loop handles to the shoulder, a short neck and an everted mouth, the interior glazed brown, 18.5cm.
Provenance: from the collection of Francis Golding (1944-2013), purchased from Michael Willcox on 27th August 2001, a copy of the original invoice is available.
