A CHINESE IMPERIAL WUCAI 'DRAGON' DISH

SIX CHARACTER WANLI MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1573-1620

Painted with a five-clawed confronting red dragon amongst colourful clouds chasing a sacred pearl of wisdom, the rim with four phoenix between clouds, the exterior with a continuous flowerhead and leaf pattern, with a paper label for Sydney L Moss to the base, 16.1cm.

Provenance: formerly from an English private collection, acquired in the mid 20th century.
