A RARE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PEAR-SHAPED 'PEONY' VASE, YUHUCHUNPING

SIX CHARACTER JIAJING MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1522-66

Brightly painted in underglaze blue with stylised peony flowers and foliage, with a band of lotus flowerheads and leaves to the shoulder and rim, between bands of lappets, a key fret band to the foot, 31.3cm.

Provenance: formerly from an English private collection, purchased from Sotheby's London, the Contents of Sheffield Park, Uckfield, Sussex, 8th March 1954, lot 40.
