A CHINESE CYLINDRICAL PEWTER TEA CANISTER BY SHEN CUN ZHOU

EARLY QING DYNASTY

With a yin-yang symbol to the cover, the base with a four character seal mark which reads Shen Cun Zhou Zhi, 12cm. (2)

Provenance: from the collection of Christopher Blair-Myers Esq.

Shen Cun Zhou (17th-18th century) was born in Jiaxing in Zhejiang province, he was a pupil of the poet Sheng Yuan (1630-1710), and as well as an esteemed metal worker, was a talented calligrapher.
