A LARGE CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE VASE
19TH CENTURY
The square tapered body brightly enamelled with folk heroes from the Wu Shuang Pu, the edges and rims decorated with flowers, fruit and insects, 63cm.
The Wu Shuang Pu, 'Table of Peerless Heroes', published in the late 17th century by Jin Guilang, illustrates forty imagined portraits of Chinese folk heroes, warriors and poets.
