Description

A Japanese headdress (jingasa), of lightweight lacquered wooden construction, low crown with a slight ridge to the brow, broad brass-bound brim with up-swept peak, agemaki suspended from ring, dark lacquer with crushed shell finish, gilt hollyhock mon (Tokugawa clan) repeated to the sides and front, interior lacquered red and retaining part of a padded lining.
