Description

An early 17th century French stained glass panel, depicting the fall of Adam and Eve, in the garden is a lion, a lamb, a calf and a fox, flanked by niches with figure of Faith and Hope, the top with a Baroque cartouche and the date '1605' supported by two winged putti, the base with a pair of lion's heads and a panel of script which translates as 'Eve brought us into unending distress from which Christ has redeemed us.', probably Strasbourg, 28.7 x 20.1cm.
