Description
λ An ivory and ebony sarcophagus shape work box, the hinged lid carved with a central basket of flowers and decorated with flowerheads and a stiff-leaf outer border, with a vacant silk lined interior, the body decorated with a band of grotesque masks above Gothic arches, on flattened bun feet, possibly Italian, late 18th / early 19th century, 17.6cm high, 33.3cm wide, 27cm deep.
