Description
λ An early 19th century Anglo-Indian ivory workbox, of sarcophagus shape, with bands of lac decoration, the hinged lid decorated with a floral wreath, revealing a removable mirror to the underside and with a secret letter compartment, above a tray with eight divisions, four with lids revealing further divisions for utensils, a pin cushion and a thimble holder, the base with a drawer revealing ivory and mother of pearl sewing utensils and other items, with silver lion's mask ring handles and paw feet, 15.4cm high, 29cm wide, 21.5cm deep.
