A 19th century whaler's scrimshaw bone and steel cut throat razor, worked on one side with a grey whale (Eschrichtius robustus), a sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus), a compass and inscribed 'W. WELLS HULL', the verso with a whaling scene with a whale being harpooned, the blade inscribed 'JOSEPH RODGERS & SON CUTLERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES NO. 6 NORFOLK STREET SHEFFIELD', 15cm long.
