A Victorian novelty silver and brass pencil,
retailed by the Mappin Brothers,
modelled as a bullet, the case inscribed 'OMDURMAN' and 'Remember Gordon', length closed 7.8cm.
General Gordon's death at the siege of Khartoum in 1885 was avenged by General Kitchener at the Battle of Omdurman.
