Description
A George IV gold propelling pencil,
marked Mordan and Co. Patent, circa 1823/24,
fluted cylindrical form, the terminal with an amethyst seal matrix, initialled, length closed 9.5cm.
The first propelling pencils were produced in 1823/24 and Mordan and Co. patent was incused stamped on them.
