Description
A mid-18th Century basket hilted broadsword, double edged blade 28.5 in., shallow fuller to the forte marked 'ME FECIT' and 'SOLINGEN' to either side, the ricasso formed of a separate flattened collar; iron Highland type basket of possible English manufacture, formed of flat bars and pierced panels and with fore guards, heavy ovoid pommel, original wire bound grip.
