Great War Naval interest: a good photograph album, relating mainly to the vessels served in by Rear Admiral James F. Figgins during the early part of his career (see lot 1003) including: H.M.S. Swiftsure's Marines and Naval Brigade parading in Bombay 1914; many views of the Suez Canal and Dardanelles campaigns of 1915, both at sea and ashore, such as: 'Swiftsure Marines repelling Aeroplane Attack Cape Helles April 1915', 'A mine sweeper night of March 17th 1915', and 'W Beach Cape Helles 1915'; activities on the Atlantic Station; studies of capital ships including H.M.S. Hood firing on manoeuvres in the inter-war period; and some loose photographs including British submarines at Hong Kong.
