A CHINESE BRONZE TRIPOD 'DRAGON' INCENSE BURNER 17TH/18TH CENTURY The body of compressed circular form cast with two pairs of confronting dragons contesting the sacred pearl of wisdom, with a waisted neck and two loop handles with a foliate design rising from the rim with key fret band, all raised on three tall legs cast with stylised leaves, a three character mark in seal script to the base reading song yue lü, 17.5cm, 2.5kg. Provenance: from the collection of Professor J Norman Collie, FRS (1859-1942) and thence by descent.
