Description
A late 19th century German walnut symphonion by Schutz-Marke, the hinged lid inlaid with marquetry flowers and leaves, the underside with a verre églomisé panel with cherubs playing musical instruments, inscribed 'Symphonion', the twin movements stamped 'SCHUTZ-MARKE TRADE-MARK MADE IN GERMANY' and numbered '328035', the case with side carrying handles and fluted column corners, 27cm high, 50.4cm wide, 41.3cm deep, together with thirty-four discs and a winding handle.
