Pompeo Marchesi (Italian 1783-1858). A 19th century carved marble bust of a young lady, her hair in tresses and wearing a classical tunic, titled 'DILIGES', the Latin for love, signed 'C.P. MARCHESI f. 1842', on an associated socle, 52.5cm high, 39.4cm wide.
