Rupert Deen was an affable playboy and the entrepreneur Algy Cluff remarked at his memorial service that Deen had never worked but was a member of GB's 1972 Winter Olympics lugeing team, adding: 'This was entirely suited to Rupert's requirements since it is the only sport with the participant lying flat on his back'
