Description
A rare Della Robbia Pottery wall plaque, rectangular, modelled in low relief with a grasshopper below a garland of buttercups, in shades of blue, green and yellow on a white ground, unsigned, minor glaze chips, 20.5 x 15.5cm.

Peter Hyland The Della Robbia Pottery Birkenhead 1894-1906, Antique Collector's Club, page 135 figure 145 for another example illustrated. It is stated that two examples of this plaque were included in the Della Robbia closing sale in 1906.
