A Victorian carved oak coat of arms, for the Assheton family, with a griffin's head, above the battlements of a tower and a helm, the shield with a mullet and a crescent jules, with the motto 'LABOR OMNIA VINCIT', in an oak leaf and acorn ribbon tied frame, mounted on a later painted panel within a leaf carved outer frame, 69 x 59.5cm.
