A JAPANESE IVORY OKIMONO

MEIJI 1868-1912

Carved as an archer stringing his yumi bow, holding the cord in his mouth while bending the weapon, the man depicted with a long beard and with a skirt of mugwort leaves, a two-character mark to the base, attached to a wood stand with the initials TE inlaid underneath, 16.5cm.
