Description
A JAPANESE GOSU SATSUMA INCENSE BURNER AND COVER, KORO
MEIJI 1868-1912
The short body raised on four slender legs, decorated in thick enamels with shaped panels containing flowers and sacred objects, the lid with similar decoration and topped with a ferocious-looking shishi, the base inscribed Dai Nihon Satsuma yaki Meizan with kao, a paper label for Empire Bazar underneath the lid, 21cm overall.
