A Victorian silver two-handled trophy cup,
by E. C. Brown, London 1873,
the stem modelled as Mars standing on a globe, supporting a lobed circular bowl with bifurcated wing scroll handles, on a raised lobed circular foot, engraved decoration, with arms of Cambridge University Athletic Club, the reverse inscribed 'Hurdle Race, 17 March 1874, won by W.C.R. Bedford, Clare Coll. Time 171/5 seconds', height 25.2cm, approx. weight 16oz.
