A RARE PAIR OF CHINESE JIANG GLAZED DISHES

SIX CHARACTER QIANLONG MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD 1736-95

Each with a gently flaring body rising to a barbed rim, the reverse with a twin raised band, all decorated with an even warm brown glaze, the bases white, with underglaze blue marks, circular paper labels for Bluett & Sons, London, 20.3cm. (2)

Provenance: Sotheby's London, 8th March 1966, lot 139, and then the collection of James Haydock Esq. and thence by descent, purchased from Bluett & Sons, London, 18th April 1966 for £85, a copy of the original invoice is available.
