XU BEI HONG (1895-1953)
BAMBOO
A Chinese scroll paining, ink on paper, inscribed, dated and signed by Xu Bei Hong, with two artist's seals, and one collector's seal which reads xin zhong cang zhi, 80cm x 32.5cm.
Provenance: an English private collection.
The inscription to the left says it was given to Mei Nu dao zhang, (Xie Mei Nu 1913-1991 was a famous seal carver and calligrapher) as a gift, and then given to Li Shou Zeng (1889-1962, a collector) for his generous donation to the China Academy of Art in 1932.
