A JAPANESE LACQUER DOCUMENT BOX, FUBAKO
MEIJI 1868-1912
The rectangular cover decorated in gold, red and silver hiramaki-e and kirikane on a nashiji ground with five fans, each decorated with a different pattern depicting flowers, cranes flying before Mount Fuji, a platform in a mountainous landscape and a flaming pearl of wisdom, unsigned, 41cm x 14.7cm x 11cm.
