A JAPANESE ORDER OF THE RISING SUN MEDAL
20TH CENTURY
For a III Class Commander, finely made in silver gilt and enamels, the centre with a deep red cabochon in glass, with a paulownia-shaped suspension above, in a fitted lacquer box decorated with further paulownia mon, the medal 5.5cm x 5.5cm. (3)
Provenance: Awarded to a Turkish ambassador to Japan and then the collection of Kemal Dervis, by repute.
