A JAPANESE IMARI BOWL
C.1700
Decorated to the outside in underglaze blue, red enamels and gilt with panels enclosing mountainous river landscapes between flowers, foliage and ribbons, the well with chrysanthemum and another landscape in a small oval cartouche, a band of stylised flowerheads underneath the rim, mounted with European ormolu fittings, 22cm.
