A TIBETAN KAPALA AND GHANTA
19TH CENTURY
The cast copper kapala (skull cup) with a silver lid decorated with stylised waves and foliage and with a vajra finial. The ritual ghanta (bell) cast in white metal and brass. The main body of the bell cast with images of Kirtimukha bordered above by vajras and lotus petals and below by a circle of vajras, 18.2cm (2)
Provenance: from a European private collection acquired in the early 1990s.
