A unique Martin Brothers stoneware grotesque dog jar and cover by Robert Wallace Martin, dated 1884, modelled crouched, seated on all fours, his anthropomorphic face, wide smiling toothy grin, glazed ochre and brown with white highlights, incised to neck and underside of base 11-1884 R W Martin London & Southall, 23cm. high
