A George IV needlework sampler by Mary Hardcastle, worked in various colours, with Adam and Eve under the tree of life, with urns of flowers and baskets of fruit, with a pair of stags, birds and crosses, with lovehearts and crowns, with a verse and an alphabet, inscribed 'MARY HARDCASTLE Aged 9 1829, Born July 25', 42.4 x 43cm, in a glazed burr oak and ebonised frame.
