Description

An Empire ormolu mantel clock by de Verberie, the eight day twin train brass cased drum movement, with an outside countwheel striking on a bell, with silk suspension, the white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, pierced hands and signed 'de Verberie', the case depicting allegories of music and theatre with a classical lady playing the lyre accompanied with a cherub holding a Punch puppet and a mask, above a central tablet with caryatid figures supporting swags and garlands flanked by classical figure on a white marble plinth, 52cm high, 41.5cm wide.
