λA three-piece Victorian silver presentation tea set,
by James & Nathaniel Creswick, London 1854,
lobed baluster form, leaf capped scroll handle with ivory insulators, the domed cover with a flower finial, on four scroll feet, all pieces with an inscription 'Presented by The Members of The English Society and Congregation of the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel to the Reverend Ebenezer Jenkins, at the close of his pastoral labours, in testimony of their grateful appreciation of the talent and faithfulness with which those labours have been sustained for eight years, and of their sincere esteem and affection, Madras, A.D 1855', length handle to spout 24.5cm, approx. weight 47oz.
